One of the most common concerns I get from people who are just starting P90X is that they can’t do pull-ups or chin-ups. Well, let me tell you something: I’ve been through a full round of P90X and I STILL can’t do them without assistance! But I am getting stronger, and closer to doing them unassisted. :)

For the duration of my first round of P90X, I used a chair for my assisted pull-ups and chin-ups, but I felt I was missing out and not getting the full range of motion, especially coming down from the pull-up bar. I felt I was using my legs too much.

A few months ago, I found this chin-up assist, one of the most helpful fitness tools ever! It’s completely adjustable and I can adjust the tension as needed. When a do a pull-up on this thing, I feel I am getting the most bang for my buck. And I can feel my muscles working from the very top to the very bottom of the movement, unlike with the chair.

I bought mine from Lifeline USA for $49.99, but Team Beachbody now has them for $29.95.

The Chin-up Max is also seen in the new P90X2 workouts, which I am anxiously awaiting!!!

This tool gives you the right amount of adjustable support to help you strengthen and train muscles as you work toward unassisted moves. Maximize every minute you spend on the chin-up bar.
